Nov 2016: South Africa Tour-Group from USA-3rd repeat visit
This South Africa Tour testimonial is from a travel agent in the US who has traveled 3 times with me with 3 different groups on 3 different South Africa tour designs.
Tour leader with school ids in the Eastern Cape after a school uniform donation.
Hi Stephen,
Hope all is well.
Everyone has made a safe return to his/her final destination.
I want to thank you for a wonderful trip – taking the Garden Route from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
It allowed us to see so much more of the beauty that is South Africa.
They especially enjoyed Durban, though the weather wasn’t ideal.
The safari game drives, chalets and meals garnered rave reviews.
Needless to say, not going to Table Mountain or Robben Island were big disappointments, however, none of us can control the weather.
If only we had one more full day in Cape Town… (note from Stephen I suggested to the tour leader to add a extra day in when we where planning this, my suggestion was turned down)
The way you handled everything after the accident is commendable. I was so glad you were aboard at that time, which made life so much easier for me. You knew who to call, etc.
While I was at the hospital with the six patients, I was told that you did a great job keeping everyone at Wimpy’s informed as to what was to take place. They felt real relaxed and comfortable with you at the helm after such a traumatic accident.
Did Velile send you photos from the scene (sent me 2), or did you take some yourself?
As normally is the case, the school visit was the highlight of the trip!
The rainbow selection of tour guides was also a nice touch. Each of them did an excellent job.
Again, thank you so much for putting it all together and for all the other little things you did to help make my group enjoy their trip to South Africa.
Some have already said they want to go back.
On to another matter…Before boarding the plane in Johannesburg to return, we have to go through a final security screening at the gate; remove shoes, be patted down, have carry-on bag checked. No problem in itself. However, a few of my clients said they were shaken down for a few rands or dollars. One or more of the female security officers told them they have a liquid in their bag that the US doesn’t allow, but for $2 or R 3, they can keep it. The liquids were all less than 3 ounces and not banned – lotion, mouthwash, etc. How do they get away with this and who can it be reported to?(note from Stephen.I reported this)
Take care,
Zandra.
