South Africa/Botswana 2019

Hey Stephen!

We had an absolutely fabulous trip. Martin was great, and it was really cool to hang out with Nodi on our first day. We had the best day for our Table Mountain hike. Clear skies, crisp temperature—we really enjoyed that and the amazing views at the top. We also loved the Cape Malay cooking lesson with Ghaamida. Her personality is second to none–she made us feel so at home in her house; she’s a special person!

We, especially Leon, really enjoyed Stellenbosch and the wine tastings. The wineries are stunning, and the actual town of Stellenbosch and where we stayed—we loved it all! We brought home 6 bottles of wine and amazon primed a wine fridge.

The river boat safari cruise at Chobe was such a cool experience–very different than the game rides. And the food at Chobe Lodge was soooo good.

The David Livingstone Lodge was really nice–they surprise upgraded our room, and we had an in-ground hot tub in between the living room and bed. The white water rafting was amazing. We had a total blast. We flipped twice on Gulliver’s Travels, rapid 7.

Arathusa and Sabi Sands–beautiful. It was so cool to be right in the middle of all the action with the animals. The place was very high end, but at the same time, totally unplugged from everything—no internet, tv, etc. Leon was going a little stir crazy by the end, haha.

Would’ve been better to stay 2 nights there instead of 3 I think.(Note from Stephen..clients booked the safari on the advice of some one else, not my advice)

We actually met the sister and brother-in-law of the owner of Stille Woning at Arathusa–they were with us on the game drive–small world! His (the brother-in-law’s) brother and wife came the next night, and we got along great with them. We will definitely be keeping in touch!

This was truly a memorable trip for us, to say the least.

We appreciate your working with us to set everything up. Everything with the car transfers went smoothly, and we couldn’t have asked for better accommodations.

Also, I absolutely loved Hermanus. Was bummed about the shark diving not running (but obviously understand why it wasn’t possible), but even if it did, would’ve rather stayed in Hermanus vs. Gansbaai. Hermanus is such a beautiful town, and I loved all the shops, restaurants, etc.
Again, overall, everything was better than great, and we appreciate everything!
