Hey Stephen,
We are back and nicely settled. Ally just started work and will be pretty tough to reach so this will be the debrief for both of us.
As always, you never fail to disappoint! (And yes, you can quote me on that). The places you booked were fantastic, but the real value-add in booking with you continues to be the high caliber of guides and locals that you facilitate interactions with. We met the nicest, most knowledgeable, and gregarious South Africans and one little Briton named Martin
Airport hotel in joburg was nice and swanky – great start to the trip.
Safari in South Africa is unlike anything you’ve booked for me in the past. The concentration of animals was great and allowed us to maximize time by only having to do 2 days of safari to get the full experience. Arathusa was a great lodge and we lucked out and had the best tracker/guide combo there.
Our favorite portion of the trip was Franschoek (Photo included). I look forward to returning to La Fontaine. Cathy, the owner, was a doll – such a sweet lady. The food and wine in that area is unbeatable and Ian/Martin took great care of us.
Dolphin coast was interesting. While it was a lovely way to relax and end the trip, we did not care for Fairlight very much. The rooms were not the cleanest and we felt ontop of all the other guests, but more importantly the owners family that was running around the halls the whole time. They were not the least bit accommodating when it came to getting a late check out.
In any event, great work and we look forward to booking again soon. Next place on our list is Tanzania/Zanzibar. I’m addicted to that continent of yours.
All the best,
Sam
