Day 1 : Arrive Cape Town. 4 nights, Silvermist Mountain Lodge, Bed & Breakfast
Collect your rental car and drive to Silvermist, Cape Town for 4 nights. Silvermist Mountain Lodge is a 60-acre mountainside estate of well-designed self-contained cottages in the beautiful Constantia Nek area.
The estate has a swimming pool, mountain trails and a coffee shop serving breakfasts. One of the Cape’s mountain walking trails starts in the reserve, and access to beaches and Constantia wine estates is easy. Each of the one, two or three bedroom cottages has a large fireplace and either its own ‘deck’ or terrace. All are fully serviced daily. Self-catering cottage with breakfast at the coffee shop.
Day 5 : 3 nights, Mount Ceder Lodge, Cedarberg Mountains, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
Head north today to the Cedarberg mountains. Mount Ceder Lodge is a delightful lodge high in the Cedarberg, which offers both fully catered and self-catering accommodation.
Mount Ceder is ideally situated for mountain hiking, fishing, swimming and visiting ancient rock paintings. The classic walks of Wolfberg Cracks and the Maltese Cross are 40 minutes drive away.
The eight cottages range in size from charming one bedroom cottages to spacious four bedroom houses, all with Oregon pine furnishings.
They are immaculately kept with obvious pride and attention to detail. (2½ hours, 230km)
Day 8 : 2 nights, The Boathouse, Near Durban, KwaZulu Natal, Bed & Breakfast
Return south to Cape Town where you drop off your rental car at the Cape Town airport in time for your afternoon flight to Durban. (Please note that the domestic flight price is not included in the tour quote at this stage).
On arrival at the Durban airport, you collect another rental vehicle and drive to the Durban north coast to spend two nights at the Boathouse.
This area is ideal for swimming, relaxing and enjoying alfresco seafood cuisine. You can explore unspoilt beaches and romantic coves, visit the crocodile farm or sail out on one of the dolphin spotting boats.
This coast is famous for its schools of bottle-nosed dolphins, which patrol up and down the coastal waters.
A tour of the Natal Shark Center is also a fascinating diversion.
For nature lovers the bird and animal life is abundant, especially around the river mouths and in the indigenous coastal forest. Here you are away from the bustle of the city and yet easily within reach of its attractions such as the lush botanical gardens and enticing Indian spice markets.
The Boathouse offers stylish accommodation with a nautical theme, right on the beach only 40 minutes north of Durban.

Head north for 3 nights at Zululand Tree Lodge, a treetop lodge close to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve.
Hluhluwe is particularly famed for its concentrations of rare white rhino, as well as elephant, black rhino, buffalo and predators. DBB & game activity. (2½ hours, 240km)
Day 13 : 2 nights, Foresters Arms Hotel, Swaziland, Bed & Breakfast
Head north to the Kingdom of Swaziland and stay 2 nights Foresters Arms Hotel, a family-friendly lodge set in the Swazi highlands.
Enjoy visits to superb Swazi markets and cultural tours and game drives through the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. (4½ hours, 420km)
Day 15 : 3 nights, Kruger Gate Lodge, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
Leave Swaziland and travel to the Kruger Park for 3 nights Kruger Gate Lodge.
This comfortable four star lodge provides excellent family accommodation with a sleeper couch for 2 children.
The Kruger Park is one of the finest nature reserves in Africa, a vast wilderness of thorn trees, prolific game and sub-tropical heat.
It is home not only to The Big Seven – elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, cheetah and wild dog, but also to an abundance of smaller, equally fascinating animals and birdlife.

Day 18 : Depart from Kruger Park Airport
After a final day of game-viewing or sightseeing, you return your rental car at Kruger Park Airport in time for your onward flight.
