DAY ONE
Pick up guests from Port Elizabeth Airport and drive on the Settlers route to Alice via Grahamstown,do a tour of this Historical City called the City of Saints because of its many churches and proceed to Alice past Fort Beaufort visit here Martelo tower a type of Fort used by the British in the 1800’s.
Check in to our guests house in Alice where we will be welcomed by traditional dancers and have a taste of Xhosa traditional food for dinner.
DAY TWO
After breakfast depart for the Historical Fort Hare University the first black University in this country that educated many African leaders like Nelson Mandela,Desmond Tutu,Kenneth Kaunda and many more.
We will visit here the De Beers Centenary Art Gallery popular with its breath taking collection of Art work done by Africans themselves some of them depicting life during the Apartheid days in the Townships and rural areas.
From here we will proceed to KWT via the Great place where the King of the Xhosa’s of this area lives and have a tour of the complex,we might see the King if he is around.
We then move to KWT the home of Steve Biko,visit his home which is now a national monument and his grave.Steve Biko died in the hands of the South African Police whilst on the struggle for the liberation of the oppressed.
We will then drive from here to Port Alfred via Barthust a Historical little town where the 1820 British settlers were distributed from to their different farms,some of them are still there generation after generation.
We will tour of Barthust and then proceed to Port Alfred a beautiful scenic little town named after Prince Alfred son to Queen Victoria who once visited this area.
We will check in at Links guest house,(a boat cruise can be arranged here on the Kowie river “longest river estuary in South Africa”.
DAY THREE
After a early breakfast we depart for Port Elizabeth along the sunshine coast with some of the biggest sand dunes in the world and some of the most beautiful beaches in this part of the world.
Drop off at the Airport or hotel.
