Sample mouth watering home cooking & other delights while lounging on the deck or find a private spot in our wine cellar, the Green Door or the riverside Gazebo where you can tantalize your palates.

At Umngazi, you can wind up the day by enjoying sundowners on a Fish Eagle Sunset cruise or on the deck where one can enjoy the stories of visitors from yesteryear in Basil’s bar.

Our comfortable bungalows are tastefully decorated, child friendly (expect honeymoon, Emlonyeni & Ntabeni suites) & offer tea/coffee facilities.

EMLONYENI: DELUXE SEA-FACING BUNGALOWS

Adults OnlySituated near the mouth of the Umngazi River with a panoramic sea front view, Emlonyeni is set apart from the main hotel, offering more secluded hospitality to guests.

With a sprawling lawn laid out in front of the 3 units, this facility is ideal for groups wishing to spend time together alone or those looking for the ultimate in privacy and tranquility.

A comfortable communal lounge/dining room is located on site for the use of Emlonyeni’s guests.Features include:

HONEYMOON: DELUXE SEA-FACING BUNGALOWS

Adults OnlyThese private units offer spectacular views and romantic bed and bathroom facilities, with a cozy fireplace to snuggle up to in the evenings. The units are nestled into the coastal bush at a distance from the main facility (connected by a rustic walkway), to ensure ultimate privacy. The floor-to-ceiling windows and doors offer breathtaking vistas, guaranteed to meet your romantic expectations. Note that we have one double storey honeymoon suite and three single storey honeymoon bungalows.Features include:

NTABENI: DELUXE SPA SUITES

Adults OnlyNestled on the hillside near the spa. One will discover that our recent additions…the tastefully decorated Ntabeni spacious spa suites.

Offering 180 degree views of the ocean in luxurious comfort. The suites offer idyllic tranquillity and food for mind and soul..

Parental plus: The separate (very well-catered) dining room for kids under 5 years old, the nannies, and the entertainment team.

Don’t leave without trying: Private dinner in the Green Door wine cellar or the Gazebo, the mangrove walk, cycling along the sublime coastline, a romantic picnic on the beach, a snorkel in the rock pools, the spa (which has just received the Les Nouvelles award for the most unique spa concept category);

Bring with you: A pram if you have a child under three, even if you don’t usually use one. Some of the rooms are a bit of a distance from the action and it’s easier to push them up the hill that to carry them.
